HOWARD JOSEPH & THE DOG

All Blacks centre Howard Joseph tripped over a dog that had strayed onto the field whilst launching an attack in the third test at Athletic Park against the touring 1971 Lions team. It was Joseph's only series for the All Blacks. The Canterbury and NZ Universities representative played just two test matches before retiring at the age of 22 due to a knee injury.
