Wilson Whineray was so well respected internationally that whilst playing against the Barbarians at Cardiff Arms Park in 1964, the crowd sang "He's a jolly good fellow" after he scored a try. Whineray played a total of 77 games for the All Blacks, including 32 test matches, 30 of which he was captain.
